How we verify
Every fact in this directory carries the sentence and the source it came from. This page explains where the data originates and what each label means.
The sources
Four sources, all public or first-party: SAM.gov — the federal entity registration file (identity, trade names, registration dates, business types, supply categories); USAspending.gov — federal contract awards (what a company was actually paid to supply); EPA Facility Registry Service — environmental permits that place a real industrial facility at a real address; and the shop’s own website, read politely and quoted verbatim. We never copy other directories.
The three evidence tiers
Delivered — the federal government paid the company to supply it; the strongest evidence there is. Registered — the company told the government it can supply it; a self-declaration, labelled as such. Stated — published by the shop on its own website; we record the exact wording and the page, and we have not inspected the shop floor. Every fact on a shop page is labelled with its tier and opens its source when clicked.
What “record confirmed” means
The date the newest underlying record for that shop was last confirmed by its source — a SAM registration update, a new award, or our most recent read of the shop’s site. It is a data-freshness date, not an endorsement.
Ownership verification
Before we attach a website’s content to a company we check that the site actually belongs to it: the registered phone, street address and city must corroborate; a shared building is not treated as shared identity (a sales desk inside another manufacturer’s plant fails); and a site that speaks in another company’s name is set aside for human review. Shops that fail these checks are not published with website-derived facts.
Corrections and removal
Every page carries a one-click removal request — no account, no justification required. Removal is immediate and permanent: the shop is suppressed from every future build and can never be silently re-added by a data refresh. Corrections work the same way through the claim link.
